After Care

Tape in and Weft hair extensions last about 6 to 8 weeks before you need a touch up. If you are experiencing slipping or tingling please give us a call or book an appointment and we will be happy to help you with your extensions.

Brushing: It is recommended to brush extensions 2 to 3x a day. Start by brushing extensions at the bottom working your way towards the top of the web. The easiest way to do this is by sectioning each row. Try to avoid brushing on top go the seam to avoid disturbing anything. While brushing please be sure to place your finger on the web!!

Sleeping: Braid extensions to prevent tangling! Another option is to use silk pillowcases to minimize stress on hair.

Drying & Styling: To make your extensions last longer after washing blow dry your extensions fully. This will help avoid matting and any excess damage to your wefts. Your extensions will hold an excessive amount of water so it is important to rough dry 80% of the hair before you use a brush. Start at the root of your hair and make sure the seam is fully dried before you work towards the end.

Hot tools and hair care: Use a heat protectant spray before you touch a hot iron on your hair and stay below 350 degrees. Also apply a light oil on the middle of your extensions to the end.

Swimming: If you choose to swim with extensions, add a generous amount of leave in conditioner and braid before entering the water, You hair is a sponge so it will soak up any water it comes in contact with. By applying leave in conditioner you will be protecting you hair and will prevent from drying out. Stay away from sun screens that have Avibenzons and Octocrylene to avoid  any discoloration with your extensions. Use mineral sunscreens like Bare Republic, Sum Bum etc. If swimming in unfiltered water, salt water or chlorinated water please wash hair as soon as possible use a detox shampoo and apply hydrating mask to restore extensions.
